Celebrating Public Health Nursing Globally

Konferencen  i Japan er lavet om til virtuel og reduceret til 2 dage. Der vil komme kald til abstrakt indsendelse  snarest.

The Global Network of Public Health Nursing (GNPHN) aims to support public health nurses in developing their practice wherever they work in the world. https://www.gnphn.com/

To share learning about and from public health nurse practice, the GNPHN is working with journal editor, Patricia Kelly, to prepare a special issue of the journal Public Health Nursing. The special issue will be published in Nov/Dec 2021 and showcased at the 6th International GNPHN Conference – Japan – January 2022.

The journal’s scope is the range of population-based concerns and interventions in which nurses are involved. Articles include research studies, methodological techniques, program evaluations, practice concepts, and educational features published with the goal of replication and development. The editor also welcomes papers covering relevant theory, education, policy, and ethical and legal matters that stimulate discussion and public debate.

The special issue is inviting paper submissions on public health nursing practices, education and research in any one country.

Topics welcomed for the special issue include:

  • Maternal child health
  • Nutrition for growth and development
  • Parenting and family support
  • Vulnerable groups
  • School health
  • Older person health
  • Lifestyle modification (stress, sleep, nutrition, exercise)

  • Infectious disease prevention and management
  • Non-communicable/chronic disease prevention and management
  • Community and population health
  • Healthy housing and environments
  • Public health nursing/health visiting service systems
  • Digital health

Papers will need to include two things:

  • Indicate how the topics covered reflect a function of the culture of that country and
  • explain how the topics presented have relevance for public health nurses/health visitors in other countries.

Early discussion of topics is recommended to ensure information about strengthening submissions can be made at a early stage. Authors who are interested in submitting a paper for publication are encouraged can make informal enquiries about topics or methods of their proposed work with their local GNPHN council member [Denmark – Dr Christina Lindhardt: christinalindhardt@fs10.dk ]. These expressions of interest should be made by the 14th December 2020. Alternatively contact the editor of the PHN direct: Dr Patricia Kelly, kellypj@umkc.edu
